Students at Crompton House Sixth Form in Oldham celebrated A-Level results, with the school ranking among the top 10 per cent nationally for student progress.
Katie Elphick achieved five A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Further Maths and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). She has secured a place at the University of Oxford to study Biology.
"I just didn't stop. I worked so hard but I didn't expect this. I'm shocked but very happy," Katie said after collecting her results.
Brooke Crotty achieved an A* in History and A grades in Politics and English Literature, securing a place at the University of Cambridge. She previously gained work experience through a scheme led by Andy Burnham and spent time working in the women's rehabilitation ward at Prestwich Hospital.
Brooke described the hospital placement as "eye-opening" and said it inspired her to pursue a career focused on helping and supporting others. She said there is nowhere she loves more than Oldham.
Abigail Evans achieved an A* in Sociology, A grades in Psychology and Biology, and an A in her Advanced Project Qualification (APQ). She has secured a place to study Human Sciences at the University of Oxford. Away from her studies, Abigail is an accomplished saxophonist and a second-degree black belt in karate.
Cain Andrews, who aspires to be a doctor, achieved an A* in Biology, A grades in Economics and Chemistry, and a B in his EPQ. He has secured a place to study Medicine at the University of Manchester.
Other high achievers include Simbarashe Madume (A* grades in Mathematics and Physics and an A in EPQ), Macie Goulding (A* grades in Psychology and Sociology and an A in Politics), Katie Barnett (three A grades, studying Philosophy of Science with Biology at the University of Leeds), and Alice Preen (heading to Keele University to study Paramedic Science).
Crompton House reported almost a quarter of all grades awarded at A* to A and more than half at A* to B.
