Oldham-based Recycling PVC has won the Sustainable Innovation Award at this year’s Oldham Business Awards, according to the announcement issued on behalf of the company.
The business recovers PVCu from old window and door frames so the material can be used again in manufacturing.
Its process involves dismantling frames, shredding them and separating materials such as glass and steel from the plastic. The company says the resulting recycled polymer can be returned to production.
Managing director Ian Murray said the team was pleased to receive recognition from Oldham’s business community.
He said investment in recycling technology and processes had been central to the work recognised by the award.
Recycling PVC is part of the profine Group. It says it intends to expand its recycling operations over the next twelve months, with the possibility of additional local jobs.
The supplied announcement did not confirm a recruitment timetable or a number of new posts. Its team photograph shows the award presentation.
